Poetry in motion, ranting your heart out, a flair for the dramatic, creating a tale, going into emo mode, scribbling drafts, recounting the moments, endless doodles, sessions with a journal… Whatever the form, description and method, I write.

The words may not be as accurate in their descriptions of feelings and actions, but they’re as close as I can make them. There are no words that can fully-describe life and its complexities in all its splendor and despair, confusion and joy. Yet we try, again and again.

Why? Maybe because the words in our can tell the story better than the fading memories. They accompany the films and photos we’ve held on to, and tell it as it was. No embellishments because at the time you wrote them, they were the truth, the graphic, bold, unedited version of events. The words are your history without the flowery daydreams that taint memories.

And this is why I’m thankful for journals and Tumblr. Relive the joy, agony, pain, exhilaration and adventure… all through words ground out with feeling.
